Santo Domingo rebosa de joyas arquitectónicas e históricas. Es una ciudad que cuenta una historia fascinante, ya que fue la primera ciudad establecida en el "Nuevo Mundo" por los europeos. Luis, uno de nuestros guías locales, afirma: "Nos gusta decir que fuimos los primeros: tuvimos la primera iglesia de América, el primer hospital, el primer monasterio y la primera universidad. Todo aquí, en Santo Domingo". En esta visita turística descubrirá los principales monumentos y los secretos del pasado colonial en autobús, tren y a pie.

Empiece en el Parque de la Independencia antes de adentrarse en el laberinto de calles empedradas del casco antiguo, conocido como la Zona Colonial y declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, donde descubrirá lugares que datan del siglo XV y visitará la catedral gótica de Santa María y el Alcázar de Colón, que perteneció a la familia de Cristóbal Colón. Conocerá mejor la compleja historia de la isla con una experiencia de cine en 4D que narra el asalto a la ciudad el día de Año Nuevo de 1586 por corsarios ingleses liderados por Francis Drake.

A continuación, suba a bordo de un minitren para recorrer la zona colonial antes de hacer una parada para almorzar. Saboreará platos tradicionales dominicanos en un restaurante familiar. Se trata de un espectacular local situado en un edificio colonial del siglo XVI lleno de carácter y encanto. Termine el día paseando por la calle de las Damas, donde se encuentran el Panteón y el Fuerte Ozama, y disfrute de tiempo libre para ir de compras o explorar la ciudad.
